Help Send Books of Comfort

From the website of the Daughters of St. Paul, www.pauline.org:

The Daughters of St. Paul stationed in New Orleans are safe as well as all their employees. We are still trying to locate family members of some of our sisters, and ask for your prayers for their safety. We are grateful for the concern people have expressed, and unite in prayer for all those suffering from this devastation.

God, our loving Father, you who know our weakness, hear our prayer. Give us the courage to face life’s struggles and the joy that comes from knowing your nearness in our needs. We ask this through your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.

PS: Note from Sr. Rose: As of September 3, 2005, most of our relatives have been in contact and are OK. The family home of one of the Sister’s is completely gone, but her parents are safe. All our employees and their families are OK as well. We are not sure about our convent and book store but since we know homes very near to us are completely gone, and the Clearwater Shopping Mall is flooded (it is across Veterans Blvd in Metairie), we are not expecting that much will be there or if it is, in very good condition. As soon as the Sisters, who evacuated to Baton Rouge, can return they will update us on our changed reality in New Orleans. Thank you for your inquiries and prayers. The last word is that the mayor said that “Jefferson Parish is no longer the way we remember it.”
